There are no vaccinations required for all travellers entering Rwanda. However, a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory when arriving from a yellow fever endemic country or a country with an active transmission outbreak.

The local currency is the Rwandan Franc (RWF). Cards are widely accepted in Kigali, with Visa the most common, followed by Mastercard. We recommend carrying some local cash for smaller purchases and services.

Rwanda uses Type C and Type J plugs with a standard supply of 230V / 50Hz. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter if your devices use a different plug type.
Please do not bring plastic bags into Rwanda. Plastic bags are prohibited and may be confiscated at the airport or another point of entry. We recommend packing with reusable or environmentally friendly alternatives.
