Kigali offers a well-connected setting for international business in the heart of East Africa. VIV Africa takes place at the Kigali Convention Centre, located close to both Kigali International Airport and the city centre. The venue complex is approximately 5 to 6 km from the airport.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
There are no vaccinations required for all travellers entering Rwanda. However, a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory when arriving from a yellow fever endemic country or a country with an active transmission outbreak.
Requirements may also depend on your recent travel history. We recommend checking the latest official guidance well before departure.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR RWANDA
CURRENCY & PAYMENTS
The local currency is the Rwandan Franc (RWF). Cards are widely accepted in Kigali, with Visa the most common, followed by Mastercard. We recommend carrying some local cash for smaller purchases and services.
MOBILE & INTERNET
Mobile data is widely available in Kigali. Check your provider’s roaming rates before travelling, or use a local or international eSIM.
ELECTRICITY
Rwanda uses Type C and Type J plugs with a standard supply of 230V / 50Hz. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter if your devices use a different plug type.
PLASTIC BAG RESTRICTIONS
Please do not bring plastic bags into Rwanda. Plastic bags are prohibited and may be confiscated at the airport or another point of entry. We recommend packing with reusable or environmentally friendly alternatives.
